The Proposal

(Shari's Perspective)
Today started off as any other day! I had the day off from work, so I decided to sleep in. The only thing on my radar for today was getting my new Eddie Bauer slippers that I had ordered in the mail! After I got my slippers I went down to Zach’s Gallery to hang out. I stayed there from 2 to 4:30 waiting to go get lunch, which I guess turned into dinner! After dinner, we went back to the gallery and I jumped on facebook, and Zach tells me he needs to run to the other store (Pearls by Shari) to grab something. I offered to go with him, and he said “no, you don’t have to get all bundled up to go out, because it was cold, so I was like ok, I will stay in here and be warm! So about 10-15 minutes later he comes back and says “babe lets go take a walk up to the square, the lights are so beautiful as I was walking back from Pearls by Shari”. I got my coat on and we head for the door (it’s about 7:30pm). We start to walk towards the antler arches, which are so beautifully lit in the night along with all the tree’s in the park. It was all very magical! So as we get closer to the center, we are laughing about how all the trees were lit with white lights and how this one poor little tree was the odd one out because it was lit colorfully, and not lit well! I then see Zach's phone at a quick glance, and it looked like I saw the cover of a Glee album on his screen, but it all happened so quick. We got to the center and he stop me and then he started playing the song “marry you” If you don't know the words to the song, the main part is, "I think I wanna marry you"…..
and I was thinking to myself, ok, Zach is just trying to act romantic to make me think he is gonna propose, so that when it does happen I won’t expect it. (boy was I off!) He hugs me, with the music still playing and says, “I love you so much babe”, and I said, “I love you too”, giggling because I know he does love me. While hugging me I could feel he was shaking a little, he then kisses me and I’m thinking what is going on here, and he pulls away and says, “I have a question for you” and i’m thinking “omg is this like for real? is this it? is he gonna ask me? but i was trying not to get my hopes up, incase he was trying to trick me and like maybe go down and tie his shoe or something. He then gets down on one knee and pulls this ring box out of his jacket. He opens up the box with a BEAUTIFUL ring inside and he asks me, “Will you marry me?” I’m shocked as I cover my mouth with my hand, because I couldn’t believe it was happening and I think I said, “are you serious? I was just so happy that I started crying. I couldn’t believe he was really asking me, something that I have been waiting for for a long time! I said “yes, of course I will” as I bent down to kiss him while he is still on his knees. He put the ring on and he said “I love you so much” and I said I love you too”. We were hugging and then I asked as I was still crying, “Did you ask my dad”? and he said laughing, “yeah I called him 10 minutes ago” (which was why he went to the other store earlier, so he could get away and call my dad). He picked me up and twirled me around and said “we’re engaged”, He asked “are you happy?” and I said “Yes of course”! He hugged me again and said “I want you to be my little Rargler forever” (a nickname he uses for me). We began to walk back hand in hand and he said, “We need to get a picture” and I was like “Yeah we do, omg how could we forget” (I was thinking the guys I saw earlier with cameras by the antler arches were taking pictures for us while he proposed to me, but they were just some random people. (lol, my bad..I kept glancing over there during the proposal so they could get some good shots of us, little did I know, they weren't taking pictures of us at all) So we see a guy walking through the park, so Zach asks him, "hey buddy can you take a picture for us", and he was like "yeah, sure" (non-interested) , then I flashed my ring to him and Zach didn’t notice at the time, and the guy was like “OH MY GOSH congrats, how exciting, Oh My Gosh, yeah i’ll take your picture, where do you want it?" So we got a few pictures and then proceeded to walk back, and the guys with the cameras said, “im guessing she said yes” lol and we asked them to take a pic of us near the antler arches. We walked back to the store holding hands and we called our families! After calling our families we sat on the couch and talked, and Zach was staring at my ring and he said, “the ring is so beautiful, I am so happy to see it on your finger, I love you so much. What a magical day! A day where I thought the most exciting thing that was happening, was getting my new slippers in the mail, boy did I have another thing coming! Let the planning begin!!!
